50’S THOUGHT BUBBLE: BEHIND THE PAGES OF TRAPPER

When you open a comic book, you aren’t just looking at dynamic panels or reading snappy dialogue—you’re stepping directly into the minds of the creators who built that world from the ground up. Here at 50*Fifty Comix, TRAPPER stands as a true testament to what happens when master visual storytelling meets deep, gritty, narrative soul.  

At the heart of this project are two visionaries: Lee Johnson and Leonce Hall III. As founder, lead illustrator, and art director, Lee serves as the visual architect. His ability to capture raw emotion, explosive action, and cinematic grandeur sets the tone for every page. Partnering alongside him is co-founder and head writer Leonce Hall III, the resident "wordsmith" who takes Lee’s story imagery and infuses it with heart-pounding live-action dialogue, editorial polish, and rich character development. Together, they’ve crafted an urban saga that hits as hard emotionally as it does action-wise. 

The Heart of the Saga: Tyree Tufts

At first glance, Tyree Tufts looks like any hardworking blue-collar man doing his best to navigate the demands of daily life. He’s a devoted, widowed father who centers his entire world around his young daughter, Kya. But Tyree is living in a city reaching its breaking point.  

Exhausted and sickened by the brutal, ongoing turf war between the South-Side Red Trays and the North-Side Closed Casket Boys, Tyree refuses to let violence dictate his daughter's future. Driven by an unshakeable paternal resolve, his desire is simple yet profound: to forge a safer, better world for Kya to grow up in. That raw determination makes him the ultimate protector—and the perfect human host.

The Entity Awaken: Trapper

When danger escalates beyond human capability and the pressure of the streets finally pushes Tyree past his limit, the true awakening begins. Fed up with the constant threat to his family and neighborhood, Tyree's sheer refusal to back down triggers his transformation, turning his righteous fury into the ultimate defense mechanism as he becomes the living vessel for Trapper, an ordained protection entity. 

Think of Trapper as nature’s ultimate defense force—a male counterpart to the raw, untamed power of the earth. When manifested, Trapper cloaks Tyree in a living, organic armor designed after a Venus Flytrap. Visually striking, the suit features a bright yellow athletic humanoid skeletal structure across the front, encased by an off-casting forest green shell along the back and body. Over his head rests a full cowl helmet shaped like the snapping jaws of a Venus Flytrap itself.  

Trapper isn't just a force of sheer destruction; he’s an elemental shield. As long as he maintains physical contact with the Earth, he can channel planetary energy to defend innocents and level the playing field against anyone threatening his home or family.

From the opening conflicts of Issues #1 & #2: Enough Is Enough to the upcoming release of Issue #3: Cross Fire dropping later this fall, Tyree’s journey as Trapper represents the lengths a father will go to protect what matters most.
